The handsome colonial revival style Town Hall is largely a tribute to Supervisor Thomas Broderick, a long range planner set aside funds to construct the building during his tenure in office from 1928 to 1949. This allowed the structure to be built without ever incurring a penny of debt. Although Broderick did have the honor of turning the first spadeful of dirt in 1949 he died five months later and was never able to see the completion of the building in 1951.
