Nestled alongside the Bay Bridge this neighborhood takes its name from the original Newport House Resort which, in 1841 was the first of many hotels and resorts to be established on the western coast of Irondequoit Bay. The subsequent and surrounding neighborhood continues to enjoy the peace and tranquility sought by those early visitors.
