Summerville

The aptly dubbed Summerville was one of the town’s premier fair weather destinations during the early years. Once known as Summerville Boulevard, St. Paul Boulevard carried hundreds of eager cyclists to this unique hamlet on the northwestern coast of Irondequoit. The long narrow lots in the on the eastern border tracing their history to the time when is area was also known as “White City” due to the number of white tents pitched here as temporary summertime structures. Currently, community members continue to enjoy beach access to areas like Windsor Beach and the laid back atmosphere of so long ago.
